Black Friday sucks and is nothing but a waste of energy. Cyber Monday is where it’s at, from the comfort of my home and not wasting any of my time camping outside in the cold.
One of the biggest reasons Black Friday isn’t the same anymore is that the deals last a whole weekend and are still expensive and is not worth it. Most stores now start sales weeks before Thanksgiving, offering “big deals” and “exclusive access”. The sense of needing to be at the front of the line and being there early in the morning or even the night before and has almost disappeared. All shoppers know they can find similar discounts at any point in November or even time before Christmas.
Years ago, Black Friday had true doorbusting prices with extremely low prices but limited quantities. This created competitiveness and excitement for Black Friday, and more times than not it led to chaotic scenes. Today, most Black Friday deals aren’t much better than regular sales that happen throughout the year. Many people feel they aren’t saving that much money, making the effort of going to crowded stores feel unnecessary. Instead, you can wake up at a normal time and still find “good deals” on Cyber Monday.

Shopping in stores on Black Friday often means dealing with traffic, packed parking lots, long lines, and frustrated customers. This is why Cyber Monday has become so popular. Unlike Black Friday, which has struggled to adjust to the rise of online shopping.
The COVID-19 pandemic sped up the move to online shopping and now that people have grown used to it, most people prefer the comfort and ease of buying online rather than fighting through crowds in person. Most of the best deals are online, and shoppers can easily browse from their computers or phones without stress. Rather than feeling rushed or pressured, shoppers can take their time and make more informed decisions.
Black Friday used to feel like a fun event with lots of energy, but now many people prefer the calmer experience of shopping online. The tradition hasn’t disappeared; it has simply changed.
Black Friday isn’t completely gone. Some people still enjoy the thrill of shopping in person and hunting for deals in stores. Cyber Monday fits the way people live today: faster, easier, and more flexible.
As shopping continues to evolve, it’s clear that Cyber Monday has become the new wave for shopping the holiday season. Black Friday may still be a nostalgic tradition, but Cyber Monday is the one that makes sense for modern shoppers.
