Shows to Binge During Stay-At-Home Order

As we are required to stay indoors for the time being, this is a great time to re-watch some old shows and to start new ones. Streaming services like Netflix has come out with many binge-worthy shows. Here are a list of my favorite shows on Netflix, that you might like.

“Grey’s Anatomy”
Seasons: 15
Episodes: 335
If you haven’t watched “Grey’s Anatomy,” then you’ve probably heard of it. It’s a medical drama about a group of surgeons working at Seattle Grace Hospital. The show centers around Meredith Grey and her life as a resident at the hospital. There are a lot of twists and turns in this drama series. Ellen Pompeo who plays Meredith Grey, is a poise actress that embodies her character. The character Grey, goes through a lot in this show and Pompeo dose a great job at portraying her story. She is the reason I watch the show. If I wasn’t afraid of needles and blood I would be surgeon.

“Cheer”
Seasons: 1
Episodes: 6
“Cheer” is a heartwarming documentary series that conveys hard work and team unity. “Cheer” goes inside the world of competitive cheerleading, following the Navarro college cheer team coached by Monica Aldama. They will do what it takes to make sure they succeed on the mat and in life. Some people think cheerleading isn’t a sport, but watching this show proves those people wrong.

“Love is Blind”
Seasons: 1
Episodes: 11
This show reminds me of “The Bachelor,” but it’s different and better. In “The Bachelor” there is one person finding their love, but in this series, there is 30 men and women. For 10 days in a speed-dating format, the men and women date each other in different pods where they can talk to each other, but not see each other. When they decide they are in love, the men are able to propose to the woman they want to marry. It’s an interesting experiment to see unfold. You see these people go from being single to being in relationships and some of them make till the end or they can walk away.

“Prank Encounters”
Seasons: 1
Episodes: 8
Need a laugh in this time of need? “Prank Encounters” is a comedy television series that, well, pranks people. Each episode follows the concept of two strangers that are introduced to each other by show actors, under the ruse of a tryout for a new job. Gaten Martarazzo, who plays Dustin in “Stranger Things,” is the host of “Prank Encounters.” The first episode is what hooked me because of the teddy bear prank. The two people that are getting prank is the babysitter and the charity worker. The goal is to take the teddy bear for charity but the bear has other plans. It ends up coming to life and starts killing people and everyone goes crazy. I love pranks and this show fuels me to prank my family.

“Stranger Things”
Seasons: 3
Episodes: 25
“Stranger Things” is a mysterious show that has just the right amount of suspense to keep you on your toes and jump scares. The series takes place in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983. A young boy, Will Byers, goes missing near a top-secret government laboratory. Friends, family and local police search for answers, as they discover top-secret government experiments and terrifying supernatural forces. Also, we can’t forget about Eleven, the awesome little girl with powers who saves everyone. Talk about female empowerment.

“Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness”
Seasons: 1
Episodes: 7
This show shook me to my core more than most series. If I could describe the show in one word, it would be insane. “Tiger King” tells the story of Joe Exotic and how he bred and exhibited big cats and other animals in a sketchy private zoo. Exotic ends up going to prison due to being convicted of hiring someone to kill the activist named Carole Baskin, his nemesis that tried shutting down his business in the show. For a time, this show took my mind off everything that’s going on, and maybe it will for you too.
