Chaminade’s first game is happening today! We welcome back our Amazing Men’s Basketball team in their rematch in their first exhibition game against UH Manoa.
Our very own Fletcher MacDonald gave us a few words on his upcoming game. He said, “That he’s always mocked bigger guys… they’re not as quick or as skilled and I’ll use it to my advantage.”
“I’m excited, got a new team, got about seven to eight new players, so it’ll be exciting to see how we gel as a team,” MacDonald mentioned.
A lot of people are excited about this gaming coming up and the players are more hyped up than ever! It has been a long 241 days and they’re yearning to take a win today.
Nate Sasser III said that their main objective is” Execution with the team and just going hard every play, every possession.”
Sasser also gave us one of his few pregame songs that helps hype him before the game and that’s ‘on one tonight’ by gunna and the other being ‘Celebration Station’ by Lil Uzi Vert.
Coach Eric Bovaird gave us a very enthusiastic interview coming into his 15th season as your Silverswords Men’s Basketball Head Coach. Coach Bovaird mentioned that they are looking for high percentage shots every time down the court, whether it’s a 3-pointer or it is around the rim.
Coach Bovaird said, “We’ve come a long ways in a couple months. I know that they’ve had the ability to practice more than we have… due to division one and division two.” Also added, but I feel really good at where we’re at, we’re picking up the things we want to do. We’ve made some really good strides.”
The boys look to come in and make a statement and do so with authority. Let’s hope this exhibition kickstarts a great season this year and keeps the momentum going from there. Only good things we are hearing from our Silverswords team, and they are ready and prepared coming into this game.
