It is not Christmas time. The music and tree do not begin going up and start playing on November 1st. They start when I’m done having turkey, stuffing, ham, football on TV, and mashed potatoes and gravy in my stomach on November 27th.
There’s a lot of controversy on when we should start listening to Christmas music and when we should put our decorations up, but there is only one answer and that’s the day after Thanksgiving. It’s annoying to hear Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is you” for 2 months straight. You also don’t have to put decorations up for another month which saves you the hassle of putting up the lights, tree, and other decorations.

The one and only main reason is that it’s not time yet. Now that Halloween or spooky season is over, it’s time for Thanksgiving and all of those festivities to take place. Winter also doesn’t even begin till December; we’re still in Fall weather, enjoying the leaves changing color, not falling off.
It’s time to reflect and take a look at everything we’re thankful for, the whole point of Thanksgiving. Most people would oppose my opinion and say that it’s Christmas time.
The only exception to the Christmas spirit is Eggnog. Even with the exception of Eggnog, about 42.4% of people dislike it than they do, which is 36.4% that don’t like it. And about 21.2% have yet to try it, based on a small poll done on campus.
Prices for real trees tend to be cheaper even after Thanksgiving is over. Save yourself money and time and wait. Depending on what tree you get based on height and type, they can get costly. Even the fake reusable plastic trees are cheaper after Thanksgiving. If you just wait till Black Friday weekend, you can get everything cheaper then.
Not everyone is also trying to watch all the Christmas movies already. Everyone has a designated family time to watch the same movie over and over again because it’s “tradition”. That stuff gets so repetitive and annoying. I don’t even watch “Elf” or “Home Alone” nearly as much as some people, and it is somewhat irritating to look forward to. Another thing some people aren’t looking towards is seeing family and all the possible family drama. There is always drama.
Some of the things I look forward to are all the games my family gets to play. Then we just love to talk trash to each other while playing the games because every single one of us is very competitive, but we end up laughing at every little thing. So, that is one thing I wish that starts earlier, is all the good times about playing games with the family.
Save yourself the hassle, give yourself the time, enjoy Thanksgiving time and everything that comes with it, and don’t rush to a time we’re not at yet.
